Tunjungan Plaza (TP) 5 Surabaya, East Java, caught fire. Visitors tell stories when asked to run through the emergency stairs.
Reported detikJatima visitor, Michael, said the atmosphere inside Tunjungan Plaza was full of panic when the fire broke out.
“At the time of the incident we were immediately told to run outside by one of the security officers. I ran down from the 3rd floor through emergency exit,” said Michael, Wednesday (13/4/2022).
The fire, according to Michael, occurred on the top floor. He knew there was a fire because he saw a door that had fallen from the top floor engulfed in flames.
Monitoring detikJatim the visitors were assisted in evacuation by TP security officers. A number of Surabaya Satpol PP officers were seen assisting the evacuation.
The fire that had been extinguished, reappeared. In addition, the smell of smoke that smells like burning wires.
