a productivity-focused tablet with a stylus, keyboard and 8 speakers

Xiaomi will mark its return to the tablet market with the Mi Pad 5, after a three-year hiatus. This should be geared towards productivity, as the first official images show.

Almost 3 years after the release of the Mi Pad 4, Xiaomi will finally release a new series of tablets on August 10. We now know that it will have everything to compete with Apple’s iPad Pro as well as Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S7.

From the first official Xiaomi posters, we now know that the Mi Pad 5 will be compatible with styluses, as is already the case with its main competitors. We also learn that the tablets, which should be three in number, will be compatible with external accessories such as keyboards.

The arrival of keyboards on Xiaomi tablets is good news, as it could allow users to use them as laptops. Finally, Xiaomi announced today that the tablet will be equipped with 8 speakers, while its competitors usually only have 4. Thus, there will probably be two speakers on each edge of the tablet, which could offer an exceptional audio experience.

The Mi Pad 5 should arrive in France

As we learned last month, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 are expected to be sold in different markets globally, and could thus land in France. Indeed, the leaker @xiaomiui had stated that the most affordable model, codenamed “nabu”, was going to be marketed outside of China. For now, it is not known whether or not the more expensive models will be marketed here.

While the official tablet presentation will take place in just two days, the specs for the Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro are still relatively secret. We know that one of the tablets will be powered by a Snapdragon 860, and another by a Snapdragon 870. In addition, uonly tablets should offer a 2K 120 Hz IPS display and 22.5 W fast charging. At the rear, we will find a configuration with two cameras with a main sensor of 12 MP.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5, Mi Pad 5 Pro and Mi Pad 5 (Lite?) Will be presented on August 10 alongside the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4, the first smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer to be equipped with a camera under the screen. This morning we were able to discover its design just before its launch.
