The prizes, awarded to public sector teachers, participants, winners and winners of the projects, are part of a partnership between Samsung Morocco and the ministry aimed at providing teachers, and eventually students, with skills in test of time and a practical understanding of the technologies that will shape their future, ensuring the world’s sustainable growth through innovation in education, says a statement from Samsung.

The Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, declared on this occasion that “we celebrate today the initiatives and efforts aimed at encouraging education and digital learning, as stipulated in the framework law which encourages the improvement of the quality of education and the excellence of Moroccan schools, in particular by developing digital resources and by promoting the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education, in order to stimulate pedagogical innovation”.

In line with the Ministry’s objectives in terms of the digitalization of education, converging with Samsung’s vision, constructive projects have been launched, “Samsung Smart School” has succeeded in supporting rural schools with limited access technology, the statement said.

This is a project that the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports continues to evaluate and monitor on the ground. Thus, the two national programs Best Edu App & TelmidTice are intended to develop mobile educational applications on the Android system and feed the TelmidTice school support portal, which allows access to information and online education, by digitizing the educational content for students.

For his part, the President of Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab (SEMAG), Dohee Lee, said that over the past few years, “we have worked with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports to provide students with and teachers in Morocco innovative solutions, aimed at democratizing the use of new technologies and innovative skills in learning and at school, which will shape the future of public school students, thus giving rise to a generation of distinguished solvers”.

In 2019, the “Samsung Innovation Campus” project was launched to renew Samsung Morocco’s commitment to enriching education in the country.

This project consists of equipping a training center with computer equipment and televisions in the Regional Education and Training Academies (AREFs) and offers the opportunity to benefit from practical and in-depth training in the field of technologies (in Python – Arduino – Scratch – Algorithm) and to bring out creative talents with better job prospects.

The project has been extended to all regions of the Kingdom in which all aspects of the program have been covered. More than 3,752 public high school students benefited from the initiative, through 279 workshops during the 2019/2020 school year, and more than 6,685 students in 592 workshops for the 2020/2021 year.

The ”Samsung Innovation Campus” program confirms the commitment of both parties to education in the Kingdom, as well as their determination to maintain this partnership in the pursuit of the success of initiatives strengthening the capacities of teachers, and students in use of new information and communication technologies, in order to encourage innovation.

In the continuity of this initiative, Samsung Morocco intends to mobilize more and strengthen the Samsung Innovation Campus project by also certifying the students who have benefited from the program, in addition to the training of other teachers across the Kingdom. To formalize this objective, a 2022 partnership agreement has been signed between the two parties, the statement concludes.
