A penalty in overtime stopped CSKA against Arda

CSKA and Arda did not win, taking a point at the Bulgarian Army Stadium today after 1: 1. Both teams played a dynamic match, in which the outcome came in the second half, when both goals were scored. A penalty in added time ensured the equality of the guests from Kardzhali, and among other things, both teams hit a crossbar.

The next task for both CSKA and Arda are the semifinal rematch in the tournament for the Cup of Bulgaria, respectively against Ludogorets and Slavia.

Thus, the difference between the rivals in the standings remains unchanged – CSKA is third with 44 points and Arda is fourth with five less.

The situations were not lacking, as CSKA could open after less than 10 minutes of play, when Georgi Yomov intercepted a cross from Amos Yuga, but Vasil Simeonov, who replaced Ivan Karadjov as the titular goalkeeper for this match, was careful. The young guard could not complain about the lack of work, and in the next ten minutes in front of the “reds” there were a few more good chances.

The first danger for Arda came in the 23rd minute, when Gustavo Busato had to go out to clear the ball, which was aimed at Ivan Tilev. Eight minutes before the break, Tonislav Yordanov shot a cross from Deyan Lozev, and Busato managed to score, as the ball hit the crossbar afterwards.

CSKA also hit a crossbar shortly after the start of the second half – this happened after a shot by Graham Carey from a free kick. The Irishman made several crossings from a corner, after which his teammates had good opportunities, but to no avail.

Sofia still took the lead in the 68th minute. Then Georgi Yomov played a good situation on the right flank and sent a pass to Federico Varela, he centered, and from a few meters Jordi Caicedo did not make a mistake and scored with a header for 1: 0. The repetitions showed that Yomov was in an ambush before combining with Varela.

Lachezar Kotev shot from the center of the field in the 70th minute, when Gustavo Busato came forward, but the ball landed on the outside of the net.

In the first minute of the second half, the referee awarded a penalty after Plamen Krumov fell in the penalty area after a slight contact with Petar Zanev. Tonislav Yordanov stood behind the ball and scored, although Busato caught his corner – 1: 1.
