The voting points enabled in Australia and South Korea have been receiving Peruvian citizens residing in those countries, in order to exercise their right to choose, in the framework of the 2021 general elections.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that in the Australian cities of Canberra and Sydney the electoral process has already started on April 11, due to the difference in intercontinental time.
The same occurs in the city of Seoul, South Korea, where the Peruvian diplomatic representation in that country has enabled a voting point for Peruvians residing there.
Earlier, election day had started in New Zealand, specifically at the polling stations set up in Wellington and Auckland. This was the first country to open the vote, starting at 3:00 p.m., according to Peru’s time.
In Peruvian territory, citizens will be able to cast their vote from tomorrow, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm; Extended hours compared to previous processes, depending on the precautions adopted to prevent the spread of covid-19.
