– We arrested a Norwegian in Copenhagen on Saturday at 10.37 pm. The man is internationally wanted, suspected of murder committed in Poland, inform the Danish police Twitter.
Danish police also said they will ask for the doors to be closed at the presentation of the detention later on Sunday. They do not wish to comment further on the matter.
The Norwegian citizen in his 20s was arrested on Saturday after being searched for by Polish police, suspected of killing his Polish girlfriend and kidnapping their common child.
The woman was found dead at 5pm on Saturday afternoon. Polish media reports that the woman was found dead in her home in the Polish town of Oświęcim, known in Norwegian and German as Auschwitz, 50 kilometers west of Krakow in southern Poland.
She was found by her father, who searched for her after he couldn’t make contact, according to the Polish press. The Norwegian citizen suspected of the murder was living with the woman.
On Saturday evening at 11:13 pm, Polish police announced on Twitter that the child had been found safe and sound in Denmark. The child was found when the car driving the wanted man was stopped by the Danish police. The Norwegian wanted man was arrested at the same time.
