A terrible accident took place on the route between Kleszczów and Gliwice during the night from Saturday to Sunday. Nine people were killed, seven were injured. The coach driver is in the worst condition. It was jammed, firefighters had to cut down the coach to get it out.

All fatalities are the bus driver and passengers. According to the police, “there are four women and five men. They were all inhabitants of Podkarpacie.” They were going to work in the Netherlands.

The bus was going from Wrocław towards the center of Gliwice, and the bus was going the other way, from Gliwice towards the Kleszczów motorway junction.

Preliminary findings show that a coach carrying 48 passengers, incl. from Ruda Śląska he traveled from Wrocław towards the center of Gliwice. A bus with nine people was driving in the opposite direction and the vehicles collided.

Immediately after the accident, the ambulance service, the police and the fire brigade intervened on the spot. The LPR helicopter also landed and transported the coach driver to the hospital. The activities lasted all night.

The security staff who had been working in Wrocław in the evening returned by bus.
The coach operator parked a second vehicle that took the rest of the unharmed passengers to their destination. On-site operations are still ongoing from 10.30 pm until now and will continue for about an hour and a half.
