A German hospital has apologized for its mistake in cremating a Turkish body

A hospital administration of the German city of Hanover apologized for a mistake that led to the burning of the body of a Turkish citizen due to the confusion between him and another deceased, and expressed great regret at the confusion between the two bodies, extending their condolences to the families of the Turkish and German families.

And he indicated in a statement that he “will not hold a press conference separately from the incident.”

In a related development, a German Health Ministry spokesman, Sebastian Golde, stressed the need to review local authorities into such incidents, stressing that the police had opened an investigation into the matter and that they had no further information on this matter. .

Abdelkader Sarghan died on the 14th of this December at Hannover Medical College Hospital, where there was confusion between his body and the body of a German who died at the age of 81 on the 5th of the same month in the hospital.

And at the request of the German family, the hospital administration transferred the body of the Turkish Sargen to the crematorium, thinking it was the body of the 80-year-old German.

The German family kept the ashes of the burnt body, believing it was their eighty-year-old death, while the Turkish family discovered the fatal mistake when they wanted to wash their deceased’s body before it was buried according to Islamic rituals.

When the Turkish family investigated the hospital’s administration, they were stunned by the response which distressed them upon learning that their deceased’s body had been cremated, and filed a judicial complaint with the authorities.
