Fans of science fiction and fantasy will finally have a source of supply for their universe: L’Antre Temps, a fun bookstore, will open mid-October on rue de Strasbourg in Thionville.

Two cousins are at the origin of the project. Tired of their life as cross-border workers, of spending their time sitting in an office or in transport, Adrien Casado, accountant, and David, lawyer, have decided to set out to open the bookstore of their dreams, dedicated to the world of science fiction and fantasy. She is at 5, rue de Strasbourg, near the old Post Office, and will raise its curtain in mid-October.

“There is no offer in Thionville or the surrounding area in terms of literature and games, sci-fi, fantasy, fantasy, etc. We are both players and readers and inevitably, we never have enough! We did a market research to see if our feeling was right or influenced by passion. ”Adrien and David Casado note that a town the size of Thionville has on average, in France,“ five to ten bookstores and one to three game shops ”. However, in the center of Thionville, the offer in this area was non-existent. Both are delighted with the arrival of the Hisler bookstore, because since Plein Ciel, none had taken over. “We want to work as much as possible with local publishers, like Iello in Nancy, which is one of the biggest game publishers in France, or Blue Orange, in Pont-à-Mousson. On the books side, we will be working with Elenya de Gondreville or Rroyzz, in Yutz, among others. “

The books, the two enthusiasts devour in the vast range of these genres linked to the imagination: science fiction, fantasy, fantasy. As for the games, the choice is also vast since they will be board games, cards, figurines “for all ages and all tastes”. But above all, if certain references in the matter remain essential, the two cousins wish to make discover their finds and advise their customers.

“No spoiler! “

L’Antre Temps, whose setting will borrow some elements from the Steampunk universe – “but no spoiler!” “- is also aimed at large associations of players in the sector – such as Tanelorn, which brings together fans of role-playing games, board games, miniatures and wargames, or The Club of players of the Fort, whose objective is to popularize board games – that occasional amateurs in need of wise advice for a literary or playful discovery. In the 60 to 70 square meters of commerce, they planned two spaces, beyond those intended for the sale of books and games: one to host events with an author, for example, or a demonstration of a new game, and the other to drink a little coffee (from a local roaster) while reading a book, why not.

To start their activity as to make themselves known, Adrien and David launched a crowdfunding campaign on a site well known in the entertainment world, Game of Tabletop. “There are prizes to be won for the people who support us, also in order to make them discover our universe. The first has a value of 800 euros ”, underline the future booksellers who also plan to sell online. In the meantime, L’Antre Temps and its steampunk cat, its logo, are already on Facebook and Instagram.
