A French septuagenarian was arrested in the canton of Jura with a real arsenal in his car. The Federal Customs Administration (AFD) seized a loaded alarm pistol, two butterfly knives, three brass knuckles and a telescopic baton.
During the search of this vehicle, the patrol also discovered the soft air replica of a pistol, a device used to produce electric shocks together with a homemade device probably used to siphon the gas tanks as well as a foot- de-doe.
The man claimed to use these weapons for his own defense. The material probably used to commit thefts was allegedly offered to him by a truck driver. The suspect, the weapons, the equipment and the vehicle were handed over to the Jura cantonal police, AFD said Thursday.
It was Monday July 27 at 1:40 a.m. that the AFD patrol saw this suspicious vehicle registered in France in the parking lot of the Porrentruy ice rink in which a man was sleeping. The control of the motorist also revealed that he was subject to a driving ban in Switzerland. / ATS
