In the case of the rape, its alleged perpetrator is in provisional prison.

The increase in police forces for the summer, says the government sub-delegate, will improve public attention and security, in the face of requests from residents who demand the presence of a permanent patrol to guarantee coexistence and avoid confrontations. Pilar López Riobóo reiterates that when they came to the government the police staff was at a minimum. “We find ourselves with a very diminished staff, it has been possible to have more troops with an extraordinary convocation, but we had retirements, we believe that this year we will be able to get more troops,” said the deputy government delegate in the province of A Coruña.

López Riobóo points out that the solution to the problem of citizen security in the neighborhood is in the hands of justice and maintains that there is continuous coordination with the Council.

The City Council, for its part, has sent a letter to the Court of First Instance that processes the mortgage foreclosures because the occupied premises are owned by the Company for the Management of Assets from Bank Restructuring (Sareb), the bad bank for mortgage assets created after the economic crisis of 2008. The municipal government of A Coruña has also filed a complaint with the Investigating Court to streamline the procedures for complaints from this group of people.

According to the Council, the municipal area of Social Benestar went with the municipal technical staff to identify the state of the people who live there in a situation of vulnerability and to manage the aid they need, although these, they recognize, have been rejected in most of the cases.

These people have been in the neighborhood since October and it is not the first time that Palavea residents have called the police since then.
