The boss of a Nigerian start-up found dismembered in New York

A young entrepreneur specializing in digital services for developing countries was found murdered and dismembered in his New York apartment, New York police said on Wednesday.

Fahim Saleh, 33, was found mid-afternoon Tuesday at his Manhattan home, said a police spokeswoman, who called his death a homicide.

An investigation is underway, but no arrests have been made at this stage, the spokesperson added.

“We are deeply saddened to inform you of the sudden and tragic loss of our Founder and Executive Director, Fahim Saleh. Fahim was a great leader, an inspiration and a positive light for all of us, ”his company said on his Twitter account.

“Our hearts go out to her friends, family and all who feel like us pain and grief,” she added.

According to the Daily News, citing a police source, the killer left behind an electric saw after rushing out of the scene of the crime, because the victim’s sister had just announced herself in the lobby of the building.

It was she who would have discovered the body and notified the emergency services.

No reason has been officially put forward for this murder, but investigators would lean for a settlement of account related to his affairs, according to the daily.

Fahim Saleh, who said in a post on the Medium site that he started out by launching an app to make phone hoaxes, chaired Gokada, a delivery two-wheeler sharing app in Lagos, Nigeria.

According to his Twitter and Instagram accounts, he was also the co-founder of a venture capital firm, Adventure Capital, which specializes in digital services designed to “make life better” in developing countries.

According to some media reports, he had recently acquired the apartment where he was found dead for some $ 2.2 million. He posted a photo of his new building on Twitter last December.

His murder comes against the backdrop of a recent increase in crime in New York, denounced several times by President Donald Trump.
