It must have been a shock for the Queen: an armed burglar wanted to murder the 96-year-old in December 2021.
A man armed with a crossbow was arrested at Windsor Castle on December 25. He had climbed over the wall with a rope ladder and was about 500 meters from the British Queen’s private apartments.

According to “The Sun” he had planned an assassination attempt on the Queen. This is indicated by a video that he uploaded to Snapchat shortly before his break-in. Now he has been charged, the police said in an official statement.

Court date is set
It said: “Following an investigation by the Met Police Counter-Terrorism Squad, a man has been charged in an incident in the grounds of Windsor Castle on Christmas Day last year.” He is accused of making death threats and possessing an assault weapon.
He is currently in prison. On August 17, the man had to appear before the court in London.
