UA ghost ship hit the Irish coast this Sunday after spending more than a year adrift on the high seas, according to The Guardian. MV Alta was abandoned by its crew in September 2018 after breaking down during a trip between Greece and Haiti.
Unable to repair the problems at MV Alta, the ten-man crew was rescued by the American coast guard when they were more than two thousand kilometers from Bermuda.
The vessel was then towed but was eventually hijacked. His fate then became unknown until August from last year when it was spotted by a navy ship britThesingle.
Two days ago @hmsprotector discovered this apparently abandoned Merchant Vessel whilst mid-Atlantic. We closed the vessel to make contact and offer our assistance, but no one replied! Whilst investigations continue we’re unable to give you more detail on this strange event. pic.twitter.com / x29sB5IF06

MV Alta is believed to have drifted across the American, African continent, along the Spanish coast, and its journey ended this Sunday near Ballycotton, a fishing village in Cork, Ireland, during the Dennis storm. The ship was stranded on the rocks.
Local authorities are asking the population not to approach the vessel, which will be inspected this Tuesday.
