A 99-year-old Brooklyn man in a wheelchair has died after he was struck by a luxury SUV in a crosswalk Saturday afternoon, police said.
The police responded to Coleridge Street Y Oriental Boulevard in the section of Manhattan Beach just before 5:00 p.m. Saturday to find 99-year-old Jack Mikulincer lying in the street with traumatic injuries. He was rushed to Coney Island Hospital and pronounced dead.
An investigation determined that Mikulincer was crossing the intersection in an electric wheelchair in Coleridge Street when he was hit by a 2020 BMW X5.
The 52-year-old driver remained at the scene, police said. No charges had been filed as of Sunday morning.
