Several police units transferred as many as 85 lockdown offenders to the hall of the Police Academy on the night of Wednesday 3 to Thursday 4 February. Among them there were twelve women. All have been fined for violation of lockdown hours, the Suriname Police Corps reports.

Seven cars were towed because the drivers were unable to present their driving license during the check. These violators have been summoned.

A lockdown offender who went on a rampage against the police was handcuffed and then taken away. He was kept under surveillance in the cell house of the police station on Keizerstraat to cool off.

Four drivers were also transferred to the Police Academy under the supervision of the police. All offenders were sent by the Surinamese police around 5 a.m. after a serious warning.
