2. German players shut up
The German national team player held silent action before facing Japan in the preliminary round of the 2022 World Cup. This was done as a form of protest by Die Mannschaft against a ban on LGBT campaigning in Qatar.
The silent action of the German player was carried out in a photo session before the kick-off. However, Germany had to lose 1-2 to Japan in that match, so it received scorn from many people.
In addition to Germany, there were fans of Italy who unfurled the rainbow flag at the Portugal-Uruguay match. The man named Mario Ferri also wore a T-shirt that read ‘Save Ukraine’ and ‘Respect for Iranian women’.
3. Japanese fans clean the stadium
Japanese fans took a positive action at the 2022 World Cup. They cleaned the stadium stands after the match ended.
Interestingly, this action was not only performed when the Japanese national team played. Japanese fans have also cleared trash from the stands at other matches.
This extraordinary gesture was also made by the players of the Japanese national team. After the match, Takumi Minamino and his friends cleaned the player’s dressing room and gave out a message saying “Thank you” and folded origami paper.
