Why update the car if you can endlessly raise its price.
Apparently, this is exactly what the Russian manufacturer AvtoVAZ believes, which, having become the full owner of the Chevrolet Niva model last year, continues to make strange game with the SUV. About restyling or at least some significant update of speech, however, does not go.
At the beginning of 2020, the Chevrolet Niva SUV in all available trim levels grew in price by 3-35 thousand rubles, while a couple of days ago the price lists were rewritten once again. As usual – upward, and the amount was 7 thousand rubles. However, for a short period of time, “Shniva” can still be bought at the original price, and the official price increase will come into force in the near future.
Thus, in April the Chevrolet Niva SL will cost 677,000 rubles, while the most “luxury”, as far as this word is applied to “Niva”, LEM drivers will cost 851,000 rubles. As before, the drive in the car is completely uncontested, there is no choice for engines with gearboxes: there is only a 1.7-liter engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. Thus, LADA 4×4 is still the most affordable all-wheel drive SUV on the Russian market.
Not only did AvtoVAZ raise the price of the entire LADA model by 1 percent, so did all Chevrolet Niva trim levels. If at the beginning of the year there had not been a sharp jump in the price of Shniva, then there would have been no questions, but now there is a feeling as if the Russian auto giant lives in a parallel universe, where drivers can afford to pay thousands and thousands of rubles for cars of poor quality.
One gets the impression that the Chevrolet Niva received an increase in the cost of 40 thousand rubles due to the fact that in the near future the car will officially begin to be produced under the LADA brand, but on the other hand, the surcharge for the nameplate is still large.
