Several months ago, Pirlo leaked his favorite game scheme to his former Italian national team teammate, Fabio Cannavaro.
New trainer Juventus Andrea Pirlo made a hint a few months ago about what kind of game he would like to have if he coached a team.
The 41-year-old has no managerial experience with last month being appointed as the Bianconeri U-23 coach who competes in the Italian Serie C.
But a surprising development occurred, Juve’s elimination from the Champions League when faced with Lyon that ended with the expulsion of Maurizio Sarri and finally the management appointed Pirlo as deputy.
It is not yet clear what kind of football he will implement at the Bianconeri, but the former Italy national team playmaker discussed the matter in a live stream with Fabio Cannavaro a few months ago.
“It depends on the players, but I like 4-3-3 with everyone attacking. Having a lot of the ball, I want the players to keep on passing, even on the bench if needed!”
“I like 4-3-3, but of course if you realize that players can’t really do it, you adapt and you use a different system.
“If you’re too fixated on a system and your players can’t run it, then you’re wasting time and not getting the best out of them.”
In his four years playing career with Juventus, Pirlo became an important component in helping the Bianconeri win four titles A league and was a one-time Champions League finalist in 2014/15.
On the international stage, Pirlo made 116 appearances for the Italian national team and was part of the 2006 World Cup winning squad.

Pirlo hung up his boots in 2017 after three years of strengthening New York City FC of MLS United States of America. After that, he took a coaching course in preparation for plunging into the managerial world.
A tough challenge awaits Pirlo in his new role. Juventus dominate the Italian League by embracing nine Scudettos without breaking up, but so far they have always failed to realize their ambition of winning the Champions League. The last time the White-Black Team won Europe was in 1996.
