32,636 people from Avila already have the fourth dose of the covid vaccine

Vaccination with the booster dose against covid-19, the one corresponding to the current campaign, which is the fourth dose but adapted to the new variants, has already reached 32,636 people in Avila. This means that one in five people in Avila (22.5 percent) has already received this dose, a figure in which it must be taken into account that the vaccination is only aimed at people over the age of 65 and some groups such as people with immunosuppression and health and social care personnel.

Vaccination is one of the means of combating covid, a disease that is still present and in which 57 positives have been detected since Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases detected in the pandemic to 54,471. What was not to be regretted was the death of those affected in hospital.

The incidence of the disease in the over-60s, which is the indicator that is currently offered as it is the range that is tested in a generalized way, stands at 233 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days in the province, after a small increase. Seven days there are 120 cases. In the capital, the figure is slightly higher, with 330 and 150 cases respectively.

In the last week, 24 cases have been declared in the capital and, among the municipalities of the province, the three of El Barco de Ávila and Las Navas del Marqués stand out. These two are the locations with the highest incidence with 526 and 300 cases respectively at 14 days.

As for the hospital, 14 people are hospitalized with covid-19, one more than last Tuesday, although they are all grounded, with no affected patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Overall, occupancy in the Ávila Hospital Complex, made up of the Nuestra Señora de Sonsoles and Provincial Hospitals, stands at 79 percent on the floor, with 283 of the 360 available beds occupied. In intensive care, occupancy is 60%.
