30,000 free pulse oximeters will be distributed in pharmacies
The Italian Pneumology Society, in collaboration with Federfarma, has launched this important initiative. From 11 January 30,000 free pulse oximeters will be distributed in pharmacies to citizens with respiratory diseases. As well as to families in which there is at least one person with respiratory problems.
This initiative involves, according to the Ministry of Health, 1,200 pharmacies throughout Italy, with the aim of making the oximeter known and disseminated. This instrument has become very important in this delicate historical moment. In fact, it is useful in preventing the complications of Covid, to which subjects with respiratory diseases are particularly exposed.
They will therefore be distributed free of charge to patients with respiratory diseases, with priority being given to patients with asthma and chronic and progressive lung disease.
