3 Man United Stars Out After Varane Transfer

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Some stars can leave after Manchester United bring Raphael Varane from Real Madrid this season. Here are 3 players who could become victims of Varane’s transfer.

The defense sector has been a problem for Man United in recent seasons. The presence of Harry Maguire since 2019 does not necessarily solve this problem.

Maguire, who has become a mainstay for MU in the last two seasons, is considered not to have a commensurate partner. The figures of Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly are considered inconsistent enough as Maguire’s companions and in guarding the MU defense.

Therefore the Red Devils still have a weakness in the back row. Varane, who has one season remaining on his contract with Madrid, was targeted by Man United.

Tit for tat. The French defender accepted Man Utd’s offer and reportedly agreed with the Premier League giants.

Madrid, who do not want to lose because they can release Varane for free next season, are ‘forced’ to release their flagship player at a cheaper price, which is worth 38.5 million pounds, equivalent to Rp. 767.4 billion.

The signing of Varane could benefit Man United tactically, but could result in the departure of a number of the club’s star players.

3 stars eliminated after Man United signed Varane:

1. Phil Jones

Phil Jones is one player who could be kicked out with Varane’s arrival at Old Trafford. The England defender last played at United in January 2020.

Jones is rarely able to play minutes because he is mostly struggling with injuries. Quoted from teamTALK, Newcastle United will take advantage of Varane’s transfer to MU. Jones could be loaned to Newcastle or sold permanently this season.
