3 Chinese Taikonots Ready to Perform Space Walk Misi

BEIJING – Trio of Magicians China , Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping, and Ye Guangfu, are already in the Station’s core module Space Tianhe. They are preparing an extravehicular activity (EVA) or space walk as the first mission to be carried out in the coming days.

The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) in a statement released Friday (11/5/2021) said that all preparations for the crew’s first space walk or trip in space were complete. Preparations for the construction of the China Space Station with the combination of the Shenzhou-13 spacecraft, the Tianhe core module, as well as the cargo ships Tianzhou-2 and Tianzhou-3.

“Taikonaut Shenzhou-13 has completed preparations and has dismantled the new extravehicular suit that was delivered on the Tianzhou-3 cargo plane. They have already completed various tests to ensure the space suit is well-regulated for extravehicular activities,” said Wu Hao, research assistant of the China Astronaut Research and Training Center.
