The police arrested a 29-year-old man from Zwolle on Friday who is suspected of arson on the A28 during the farmers’ protests last Wednesday.
The man is suspected of, among other things, sedition and arson, according to the police. The arson in the context of the farmers’ protests took place on the highway near the village of Rogat (municipality of Meppel).
“Serious criminal offenses have been committed in recent days, which have led to dangerous situations, including this arson”, the police report.
The detective team does not rule out the possibility that more people will be arrested in the near future. “Together with the Public Prosecution Service, we are making every effort to trace and prosecute the perpetrators of criminal offenses.”
