The world star invites you to the 28th José Carreras Gala in Leipzig on Wednesday 7 December MDR will broadcast live from 8.15pm. Since 1995, the world-renowned tenor has been calling for donations to fight leukemia and other life-threatening blood and bone marrow diseases on a December television evening. In Germany’s most exciting fundraising gala, this year the world star will be supported by his international and national artist friends.
This sustained commitment of José Carreras is unique. So far, citizens have donated over € 235 million. As a result, the José Carreras Leukemia Foundation was able to carry out more than 1,400 projects and, among other things, facilitate the research and development of new therapies. Each euro not only alleviates suffering and saves lives, but is also a step towards José Carreras’ great goal: leukemia must be treatable. Always and with everyone.

The José Carreras Leukemia Foundation supports scientific research, infrastructure and social projects. In 1987, the founder José Carreras fell ill with leukemia.
