The number of new corona infections remains at a high level in Hamburg. 231 new cases were registered on Sunday. That is significantly more than last Sunday, when 104 new cases were reported.
349 new infections had been registered on Saturday. On Sundays, the number of reported cases is usually lower than on other days of the week, as fewer tests are carried out on the weekends and not all health authorities share their data.
Seven-day value increased
In the past seven days, 2,145 people in Hamburg have been shown to have been infected with the corona virus – in the week before it was only 1,820. The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week therefore rose to 112.9. According to the social authority, a total of 26,855 people in Hamburg have tested positive for the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic. According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute, around 19,100 of these can now be regarded as recovered.

More deaths
According to the Institute for Forensic Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), 357 people in the Hanseatic city have died of Covid 19 disease. That’s 17 more than when that number was last updated on Tuesday. These cases are not reported on a daily basis, but bundled after the autopsies.
90 people in Hamburg in intensive care units
According to information on Friday, 354 corona patients are being treated in the hospitals of the Hanseatic city. Intensive care treatment is required for 90 patients, 76 of them from Hamburg. These numbers were not updated over the weekend.
