2 Positive Covid-19 Council Members, Banyumas DPRD Building Closed

PURWOKERTO, KOMPAS.com – Regency DPRD Building Banyumas temporarily closed after two board members confirmed positive Covid-19.

The building activities for the representatives of the people will return to normal on Wednesday (26/8/2020) next week.

“The DPRD office is still closed until next Wednesday, because there are two members of the DPRD confirmed positive for Covid-19, “said Banyumas Regent Achmad Husein via a video, Saturday (22/8/2020).

Husein said the closure was carried out for the sterilization process and anticipating the possibility of an increase in people exposed to Covid-19.

“There is strong indication that it could increase again, so that all rooms must be disinfected,” said Husein.

Husein said that all DPRD members will also undergo another swab test.

The same goes for all employees within the board secretariat.

“There will be a repeat swab test, even though a month ago it was answered. God willing, today the repeat swab is completed,” said Husein.

Husein added, until now there have been 290 confirmed cases of Covid-19. In details, 236 people were declared cured, 47 people were treated and seven people died.
