here are the businesses (for now) authorized to remain open during confinement

The government specified in a decree published Monday in the Official Journal the businesses that had the right to remain open, as part of the containment measures decided against the coronavirus.

Prime Minister Edouard Philipe on Saturday evening ordered the closure of “non-essential” places due to the coronavirus epidemic, including restaurants and bars, but a blur remained on the businesses authorized to open. The Prime Minister had mentioned Saturday food shops, pharmacies, banks, tobacco shops and gas stations. A decree published Monday in the Official Journal clarifies the question.

Supermarkets, food stores, pharmacies, newsagents, funeral directors or banks are among the businesses that may open. In addition, there are automobile and two-wheeled equipment dealers, farmers’ suppliers and their equipment manufacturers, computer and telephone salesmen and repairers. Laundries and funeral services are also open.

On another level, places of worship, such as churches, will remain open but cannot accommodate more than 20 people, except in the event of burials for which no limit is given.
