2 dead monkeys and 3 kilograms of crocodile meat: this is the capture of Operation “Thunder” at Brussels Airport

Specifically, between mid-September and mid-October, customs checked 72 travelers, all of whom had just landed from a Central or West African country. Three of them were bumped and committed a clear violation of CITES legislation, the international treaty intended to regulate trade in bushmeat and endangered species. “Two dead monkeys were seized from them and a total of three kilograms of crocodile meat,” says Francis Adyns, spokesman for FPS Finance, responsible for customs. “In addition, three dead porcupines were also intercepted, although they are not protected by CITES”.
