TNI Navy Allegedly Beaten by Brimob Members in Maluku – Viral Video Explanation

Video with narration about the alleged beating of Brimob members against soldiers TNI Navy in the Aru Islands, Maluku, went viral on social media. TNI explain the problem that occurred.

Seen detikcom, Sunday (21/1/2024), in the viral video you can see a commotion taking place in the market. There are a number of people wearing Brimob uniforms who can be seen in the video.

“TNI AL members were victims of beatings by a number of Brimob members in Maluku,” said the narration in the video.

In captionAccording to the uploader, the incident occurred at Pasar Timur, Aru Islands, Maluku, on Saturday (20/1/2024). The incident is said to have started during a patrol carried out by Brimob.

The uploader said that the Brimob patrol car was blocked by the motorbike of an Indonesian Navy soldier who was parked on the side of the road. After being able to pass, the Brimob members allegedly did not accept the hand signal from the TNI soldier who was said to have asked the patrol vehicle to drive slowly because there were many people in the market.

The uploader stated that a Brimob member got out of the car and hit a TNI AL member who was shopping. There were also members of Brimob who were said to have tried to break up the commotion.

Head of the TNI Penuspen, Major General Nugraha Gumilar, said that it was true that there was a commotion between Brimo members and TNI AL soldiers. He said the issue had been resolved.

“It is true that there was a small commotion between members of Ki C Pelopor Brimob and members of Lanal Aru Kep Aru. Danlanal Aru and Danki C Pelopor met to resolve this problem and now the commotion has finished,” said Gumilar.
