The Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), which was the first session of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), to which 2 million 437 thousand 119 candidates, organized by the Directorate of Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), was applied.
According to the decision taken by the Higher Education Council, TYT candidates were given another 30 minutes this year compared to last year. In this context, in the TYT, which started at 10.15, the candidates used 165 minutes to answer the questions.
Candidates were not admitted to the exam buildings after 10.00. Provincial / district population directorates were held open for candidates who lost their TC identity card, who did not have a national ID card, or who did not have a Turkish ID number and photo.
A total of 20 questions, 40 in the Turkish language test, 5 in history in the social sciences test, 5 in geography, 5 in philosophy, 5 in religious culture and moral or additional philosophy questions, 40 in basic mathematics test, 7 in physics, 7 in chemistry and 6 in biology. 20 questions were asked in the science test in which he was involved.
YKS’s second session, Field Proficiency Test (AYT) will start at 10.15 tomorrow and last for 180 minutes. YKS results will be announced on July 28, 2020.
TRANSPORTATION FREE
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) stated that public transportation will be free for students and examiners due to YKS.
NO MASK REQUIREMENT DURING THE EXAM
Masks and disinfectants were distributed to the candidates by the staff at the entrance of the exam building. Candidates were able to take off their masks during the exam after passing to the exam hall and sitting in their desk.
Candidates with Covid-19 were also tested in separate halls in reserve buildings.
RESTRICTING TO STREET CONTINUES
In the meantime, due to YKS, the curfew is being applied in 81 provinces between 09:30 and 15:00 today. During the restriction hours, workplaces such as pharmacy, bakery, market, grocery store, greengrocer, butcher, nuts and desserts will be open. Those who do not follow the rules will be given administrative fines.
