“18-Year-Old Man Stabbed to Death in Brooklyn D Train Altercation”

NEW YORK — An 18-year-old man was stabbed to death aboard a Brooklyn D train after an argument with another passenger Thursday night, police said.

NYPD officers responding to a 9-1-1 call about a man stabbed on a northbound train as it entered the Fourth Avenue and Pacific Street station, in the middle of Barclays Center, around 11:30 p.m. Authorities found the victim stabbed in the stomach.

He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the initial investigation, the victim argued with an unidentified man on the train. It was not clear why they fought, but the dispute turned violent and the attacker stabbed the victim with an unknown object. The suspect got off the train when he arrived at the station, went to the street and ran out.

No weapons were recovered. No arrests have been made.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family.
