The wait for chargers has been significantly shortened in the last ten years. For the next ten, a short pause should be enough.

At least that’s what the Israeli battery start-up StoreDot says, according to which we are very close to other technical innovations that reduce the time spent on chargers. Technologists promise that in two years’ time we will be able to “push” energy into the new battery to 160 kilometers in about five minutes.

However, this does not end the promising plans. According to the Israelis, the possibilities of batteries and fast charging will go even further. Their long-term plan promises that in 2032 we will get the above-mentioned range in just two minutes of charging. Since the time spent at the charging stands is considered to be one of the main negatives of electric cars, the start-up believes that such a significant reduction could convince many opponents of battery cars.

The technical details of the innovative solution remain a mystery. However, StoreDot points out that in the future it does not count on lithium-ion batteries, which are the most widespread today and are used in most electric cars, plug-in hybrids and hybrids. Instead, he believes in batteries that use biological structures or living cells. The company admits that the production of such a battery is much more financially demanding today, but again it offers hitherto undiscovered possibilities.

The start-up even says that its brand new ultra-fast charging and 100in5 battery technology (100 miles in 5 minutes) is already being tested in the real world by a number of carmakers. So far, however, Israeli creators have not boasted about which brands exactly. If all goes according to plan, such a battery will appear in series production in just two years.
