In total, 95 road traffic accidents were registered in Latvia, of which 41 occurred in the Riga region, 21 – in Kurzeme, 13 – in Zemgale, 11 – in Latgale, and nine – in Vidzeme.

The highest number of victims was registered in the Riga region – 11, of which six were pedestrians and two were cyclists. In turn, two victims were registered in Kurzeme, but one each in Latgale, Vidzeme and Zemgale.

Also, the State Police officers caught 15 drivers who had been behind the wheel after drinking gradual drinks last day.

Six drinking drivers were caught in Zemgale, four in Kurzeme, three in Latgale, but one each in Riga and Vidzeme.

Also, 203 administrative violation acts on exceeding the permitted maximum driving speed were issued last day. The most active violation of the rules is in Riga, where 58 such acts have been executed. In Vidzeme the speed exceeded 42 persons, in Kurzeme – 40, in Zemgale – 34, but in Latgale – 29.
