A fierce fire caused extensive damage to an apartment on Girostraat in Tilburg on Monday evening. At least three people had to be checked by paramedics for smoke inhalation, a 112 correspondent reported. The fire broke out around ten past nine and was accompanied by a lot of black smoke, a spokesperson for the Central and West Brabant Security Region reported. Within fifteen minutes the signal was given under control.
The police have closed the Telefoonstraat and the Girostraat to allow the fire brigade to do its job.
