Manhunt in Switzerland after the knife incident in Munich

St. Gallen / Munich (dpa / lby) – Around two and a half months after a man threatened travelers with a knife similar to a machete at Munich Central Station, investigators are following traces in Switzerland. The suspect bought a bicycle in St. Gallen two days before the act, which he had with him during his dangerous action in Munich at the end of September, said a spokesman for the Munich Federal Police on Thursday. The St. Gallen canton police are now publicly searching for the man with a picture.

During the incident in Munich, the man was filmed by surveillance cameras. According to the Federal Police, he had previously got into an argument with a passer-by, whom he injured with a slap in the face. A courageous man who intervened in the situation was threatened with the big knife by the suspicious man along with his companion. The suspect, around 30 years old, fled but left his bike at the train station.
