An observant local resident had captured the group on video. These were young people between 12 and 15 years old. While officers were looking for them, an explosion was reported in the tunnel on the Merellaan. The perpetrators had attached the fireworks to a bottle of turpentine and then detonated them. This caused a loud bang, a burst of flames, and then a fire. Two boys have been arrested. The police later arrested the rest of the group as well. “Nine youths were referred to Halt’s office and I had a conversation with each boy and his parents at the police station,” the local police officer said on social media.
