1.5 tons of cocaine and avocados for Dutch company (VIDEO)

On Thursday afternoon, more than 1.5 tons of cocaine was intercepted in the Colombian port of Buenaventura. The coke was in a container of avocados that was about to be shipped to the port of Antwerp. Then it would go to a company in the Netherlands.

The catch involved a total of 1,572 blocks of cocaine weighing about one kilogram. The Colombian drug police had received a tip about the shipment.

Incidentally, 296 kilos were also seized by the Colombian navy in Buenaventura this week.

Buenaventura is a port city on the west coast of Colombia. Less cocaine is shipped through ports on the Pacific coast than from ports on the Caribbean north coast. This year, about 9,000 kilos were packed in Buenaventura. The last catch in Buenaventura was at the beginning of October, a batch of cocaine containing 1,604 kilos of cocaine, also destined for Antwerp.
