On Saturday evening (June 27, around 9:30 p.m.) several callers reported via the emergency number that numerous people were fighting at a kiosk on Moritzstrasse / Meisselstrasse. More people would join the more than 15 men. As soon as the first police car arrived, the officers stepped between the parties and ended the dispute without any problems. According to initial findings, there should have been a physical argument between a 54-year-old and other men. Three participants (22, 29, 39) could be identified on site – others are said to have left before. The dispute may sparked when the slightly drunk 54-year-old was asked about the corona protection regulations while shopping and asked to put on a protective mask. A 45-year-old witness apparently calmed the situation beforehand, so that the 54-year-old only had to be treated as an outpatient in a hospital with minor injuries. The officers made a criminal complaint for assault, which the Mülheim criminal investigation department will pursue. / Peke
