This morning at shortly after 5 a.m., the rescue train of the Mülheim an der Ruhr fire department was called to a traffic accident on Weseler Strasse. In the intersection with Rheinstrasse, the driver of a Corvette had lost control of his vehicle when turning, due to an unexplained cause. Thereupon he collided with a traffic light system and on the other side of the street with several moving concrete cubes before he stopped at a fence system.
Fortunately, the driver was responsive and not pinched. He was able to leave his vehicle on his own. After initial treatment at the scene of the accident, the patient was transported to a nearby hospital. The fire brigade blocked the access to Rheinstrasse, ensured fire protection and supported medical rescue. In the further course, the crew of the fire truck pulled the accident vehicle back onto the road with the cable winch to support the rescue measures. The crew of a requested aerial ladder helped the police record the accident.
The access to Rheinstrasse was blocked during the approximately one-hour operation. The site was handed over to the police to investigate the cause. (VHa)
