Doctors criticize Trump’s “unnecessary stroll”, “insanity” and “criminal negligence” that endangered the lives of all those who accompanied him in the car.
A doctor at Walter Reed Hospital, where Donald Trump was admitted less than 24 hours after announcing a positive test for covid-19, called it “insanity” the motorized tour the president of the USA took to thank the supporters concentrated at the door of that hospital.
“The presidential car is not only bulletproof, it is also hermetically sealed against chemical attacks. The risk of transmission of covid-19 inside is the greatest you can have. The irresponsibility is incredible,” said doctor James P. Phillips, who works at the hospital where Donald Trump is admitted.
“Everyone in that vehicle is going to have to be quarantined for 14 days. They can get sick. They can die. For political theater,” wrote James P. Phillips, on Twitter, the same social network on which Trump announced he learned a lot about the covid-19.
At Trump’s orders, they put their own lives at risk. This is insanity “, it is also read in James P. Phillips'” tweet “, placed shortly after Donald Trump took an” unnecessary walk “, in the words of that doctor.
“This is the ultimate exponent of irresponsibility,” commented Jonathan Reiner, professor of Medicine and Surgery at George Washington University Hospital. “By making a joyous march in the vicinity of the hospital, the president is putting the agents of the secret services that accompany him at serious risk”, one also reads on this doctor’s Twitter.
“When we visit a patient with a covid in a hospital, we wear all the protective equipment: mask, glasses, gloves, hat, complete suit”, explained Reiner, unhappy with the images showing the occupants of the presidential vehicle with only a mask on his face, while Trump beckons to supporters.
“It is Donald Trump’s criminal negligence to recklessly expose others. Pray for the secret services,” wrote Republican Eric Swalwell, also on Twitter.
“Imagine what it’s like to have a covid parade,” commented Meena Harris, niece of the candidate for the US vice president for the Democratic party.
