This morning, the undersecretary of Healthcare Networks, Arturo Zúñiga, expressed that he expects a decrease in hospitalizations for coronavirus since he sees “a decrease in daily infections in some regions” although this will have a “delay”.
“When you see a decrease in daily infections in some regions, we hope that in the next few days there will be a decrease in hospitalizations, but that is delayed”, Zúñiga expressed in La Moneda.
“From the minute a person presents the symptoms to which he enters hospitalization, 14 days can elapse. And the minute that person is graduated, is discharged, a month can pass. Thus, the decrease in infections does not immediately translate into a decrease in the number of people hospitalized, but we should see it in the coming days if this trend continues ”added Zúñiga.
Indeed, the total number of boarding schools (in all types of beds) as a result of the Covid-19 is 8.897, a figure that has registered slight losses in the last four days reported in the daily report of the Ministry of Health (Minsal).
