Karim Benzema reportedly already made up with Vinicius Junior. Trainer Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane, confirm the matter.
Previously, Benzema and Ferland Mendy were caught on camera gossiping about Vinicius in the hallway of the Borussia Park stadium, when Madrid faced Borussia Moenchengladbach of Champions League, Wednesday (28/10/2020).
The incident occurred before the players returned to the field to play the second half, during which Madrid were trailing 0-1. Vinicius’s position is actually not far from Benzema and Mendy, but because they both speak French, Vinicius doesn’t seem to understand.
In the video footage that went viral on social media, Benzema asked Mendy not to pass the ball to Vinicius. He said the Brazilian player performed poorly in the first half and wasted many opportunities.
“Playing like trash, brother. Don’t pass it to him!” said Benzema. Mendy seemed to agree and replied, “he was playing against us,”.
Later, Benzema reportedly apologized to Vinicius during a training session on Thursday (30/10). Regarding his remarks regarding Vinicius, Benzema is said to have been carried away.
“Most importantly, everything is done clear, and both of them have spoken, “said Zidane confirming the reconciliation of the two attackers, quoted by Marca.
“A lot of things are said on the pitch and it’s best to stay on the pitch. We are a team and we need our energy more for other things (than discussing disputes).”
“But that’s a good thing, because it means we are still alive. They have spoken and the problem is over,” said the French coach.
A harmonious relationship between the two is clearly needed by Real Madrid, who will next face off Huesca of Spanish League, Saturday (31/10) at 20.00 WIB.
