Around 500 Lower Austrians are currently in quarantine at home. But some, especially younger, “patients” do not adhere to them.
Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner (VP) had warned of panic on Tuesday afternoon, but admitted that one should be worried. In Lower Austria politics, the main concern is the economy. “The primary fear is not infection with the virus, but the negative effects on the Lower Austrian and Austrian economy,” says an insider.
Changed living conditions
The state governor initially refrains from closing school and kindergarten in general: “Only in the event of suspicion. However, we generally have to adjust to changing living conditions in the next few weeks or months,” said Johanna Mikl-Leitner on Tuesday.
574 people were tested in Lower Austria, 40 of whom had the corona virus, and six test results were still pending (Note: as of Tuesday evening).
