Young man was dismembered in Alagarve for 70 thousand euros and passionate reasons

The Judiciary Police yesterday arrested two young women, of legal age, suspected of having murdered and dismembered a 21-year-old boy in the Algarve. As far as i was concerned, the insurance premium of several thousand euros to which the victim had been entitled and passionate reasons were at stake.

One of the suspects is said to have been involved with the victim, an IT professional, having realized that he had recently received 70,000 euros. Thereafter, the crime began to be planned with the other suspect – both maintained a loving relationship.

Taking advantage of the relationship of trust, the young man will have been attracted to a wilderness location by the younger woman. There he was held in captivity for two days – between 18 and 20 March – at which time he was threatened and forced to pass ATM codes. After that, he will have been asphyxiated. In order not to leave a trace, the suspicions will have dismembered the victim and distributed body parts to various locations, between the Barlavento and the Sotavento – the head was found in Tavira and the trunk and two limbs in Cabo de São Vicente.

After being arrested, the two suspects will have confessed to the crime. In a statement, the Judiciary Police confirmed yesterday at the end of the day that it detained “two women, for the alleged authorship of a crime of qualified homicide and of a crime of desecration of a corpse”.

“The crimes took place in the Algarve region between 20 and 25 March 2020,” said the PJ, adding that “the victim, a 21-year-old Portuguese citizen, resident in the Algarve, was dismembered, with body parts found in the areas of Sagres and Tavira ”.

He added: “The investigation carried out continuously since the appearance of parts of the victim’s body in the Tavira region has allowed the collection of relevant evidence, culminating in the identification and detention of the alleged perpetrators.”

The detainees are 19 and 23 years old and are also residents of the Algarve. According to the PJ, they are “socially and family inserted” and have no “criminal record”. The two will now be brought to court for enforcement of enforcement measures.
