The motorist drove from Trogen towards Landmark at 12.40 p.m., the Appenzell Ausserrhoden cantonal police said on Saturday. At the left turn at the entrance to the Bruderbach Bridge, he lost control of his vehicle.
According to the information, the man countersteered so as not to crash into the bridge railing. As a result, he went off the road and fell down the steep creek bank with his vehicle. The car overturned and finally came to a stop on its wheels in the creek bed.
According to the police, the driver was able to get out of the car independently and without injuries.
