Yannis Maggos in documentonews.gr: “I feel a little satisfaction and a bit bitter” – 2024-04-03 18:57:45

“I feel a little satisfaction and a bit bitter. Our justification will be to punish the guilty and this will help to stop the uncontrolled police violence that exists in our country” says Vassilis Mangou’s father, to Documentonews.gr, after the new turn the case takes.

More specifically, after the order of the investigator Plimmeliodiki Volos, which agrees with the direction already set by the Prosecutor of Appeals of Larisa, upgrading the indictment and including other police officers as defendants in the case.

Consequently, following this important development, 6 police officers are now accused of the following criminal acts:

1) accessory and serial torture 2) accessory and serial dangerous bodily harm 3) accessory and serial exposure and 4)
illegal detention by complicity. (It is noted that the serial charge concerns the first four police officers).

Based on the new data, it is a question whether the scheduled trial will begin on September 20, 2024 and with what case file, while it is also an open question whether the family of Vassilis Mangou will be able to declare their own representation in court with the participation of the lawyer her in the process.

An important role in the development will be played by the will of the Volos misdemeanor council for the case.
