You might think that the top scorer of Atletico Madrid, Diego Costa, was one of the first players to play for Spain, despite the fact that he is Brazilian.
Katana has a career in many Spanish clubs, perhaps the most prominent of them is Celta Vigo and Malaga, where he managed with the Andalusian team to win the league’s top scorer when he was Malaga in the second division in (1998 – 1999), scoring 26 goals.
The Katana march continued his move from Malaga to Celta Vigo in 2000, to achieve good advice with “O Celestis” with whom he managed to reach the Spanish national team in the same year.
“Yalla Koura” contacted Katana to talk to him about his career in Spain until he acquired citizenship along with his experience with Egyptian professional Ahmed Hosam “Mido” when he was a player in the ranks of Celta Vigo, in addition to the fierce competition that is taking place in the “La Liga” between Real Madrid and Barcelona .
– In the beginning, how do you see the decision to return to the Spanish League?
I think everything is going well, this decision is very good, and I think we have been following steady steps over the past weeks.
– The competition between Barcelona and Real Madrid is fierce during this year .. Your expectations, who will be the champion?
Currently we are seeing a fight between Barcelona and Real Madrid over who will be the LaLiga champion this year, hoping that the best in the league will win, but I think the end will be exciting between the two parties in the next round, but I hope Barcelona will win the title due to my friendship with coach Kiki Sitten.
– To get back a little more specifically during your career, Ahmed Hossam “Mido” played with you … How would you rate his experience with Celta Vigo?
I am glad I played next to “Mido”, he was a very good player when he was in the ranks of Celta Vigo.
As a Brazilian player, how did you decide to choose the Spanish national team?
I consider the Spanish to be brothers to me, I have given everything to Spain, and all I have now is love for Spain, my experience is wonderful with them, both personally and as a player.
What is your best career as a player?
My career has been great since I started the ball in 1995 with the Portuguese team Pellinensch, but I consider my best experience as a player in the ranks of Melaka and Celta Vigo.
– As a dual national, how do you see the soccer difference between Brazil and Spain?
I think that the supremacy will be in Spain’s favor, of course. The Spanish ball here is dynamic and strong unlike Brazil, they depend on skill.
– This year, there are three Champions League teams from Spain .. Do you expect the Spanish championship during this version?
I think that the three clubs in Spain (Real Madrid – Barcelona – Atletico Madrid) are very well prepared, I hope that the European Championship will be in favor of one of the trio, especially in light of the levels they offer in the last period in the league.
– After your personal experience with Mido .. How do you assess the level of Salah in the current season with Liverpool?
Salah is a player I like so much, he is one of the best players in the world right now, and he has many great capabilities.
In your opinion, what is the best club for Salah if he decides to leave Liverpool?
It is better for Salah to move to Real Madrid, he will enter the atmosphere of the Spanish League quickly, his adaptation to Real will be faster than Barcelona, and I think the Real has a good opportunity in contracting with Salah, especially in light of the economic conditions experienced by the clubs in the world.
