Xiaomi introduced the Mi Band 4 in 2019: a watch produced by Humi, one of the production partners of Xiaomi. A message from Humi on the Chinese Weibo this time contains confirmation for the arrival of the Mi Band 5; a launch of this tracker would follow in 2020.

Fitness trackers come in all shapes and sizes. Xiaomi’s Mi Band series is very popular, mainly because of the low list price of the trackers. In June 2019, Xiaomi introduced the Mi Band 4. Work is currently underway on the launch of the Mi Band 5, Humi said. Humi is an “ecological production partner” of Xiaomi. In other words, Humi is the official manufacturer of the Mi Bands, but in the store such watches are sold under the Xiaomi brand name. In a message on the Chinese Weibo drops Humi that the “Mi Band 5 will come on the market later this year.” Humi writes about the arrival of the Mi Band 5 in a report about rumors that Xiaomi will end its collaboration with the smartwatch manufacturer. Despite the rumors, Xiaomi and Humi continue to work together to manufacture smartwatches, such as the Mi Band 5. As for the Mi Band 5, the watch is likely to feature a 1.2-inch AMOLED screen and NFC support. In 2019, Xiaomi introduced another Mi Band 4 without NFC, with a lower price: it is unknown whether that will happen again in 2020.
Long battery life
The biggest advantage of a fitness tracker like the Mi Band 4 is the battery life. The Mi Band 4 will last up to 20 days on one charge. You can also swim with the Mi Band, up to about 50 meters deep (5 ATM). To come back to the NFC variant: that is of little use in the Netherlands. The Mi Band 4 can arrange payments via NFC using Chinese bank cards. For the basic version of the Mi Band 4, you paid 21 euros (169 Yuan).
