Xbox Live is without a doubt one of Microsoft’s biggest contributions to video games. While the service arrived in 2002 in the United States, we had to wait a year later, in 2003, for it to arrive here. And since then, the service has welcomed millions of players all over the globe. Today we learn that its Director, Dan McCulloch, is leaving his post and Microsoft. After 15 years spent with the manufacturer, the man comes from the announcement on his Twitter.
After 15 years at XBOX, I announced today that I would be leaving. I made so many friends, learned so much and truly had a blast! Dan McCulloch had arrived at the head of Xbox Live in 2017. Before that, he held various positions, including that of producer. He had been able to officiate on the Forza Motorsport license, the Kinect catalog and, more recently, he was in charge of Hololens experiments.
For his departure, Dan McCulloch leaves Xbox Live in exceptional condition. Never before have so many players subscribed to the service and the prospects are excellent, in particular thanks to the links that are naturally created between the service and the Xbox Game Pass.
